In case you are not familiar with Joe, he started his TV career whilst qualifying as a vet at Bristol University, filming the British reality TV show Vet School. He was then on Vets in Practice, where he worked for seven years. The BBC broadcasted a catch-up series called Return to... Vets in Practice in July 2008, which caught up with all the stars of the series and looked at what they had done since the original series ended. He was the vet on Blue Peter, where he worked for four years. He also regularly appears on BBC 1's The One Show as their resident vet - a role he also carries out for Channel 5's The Wright Stuff. In 2010, he became the pet expert for ITV's breakfast show, Daybreak.

We are delighted to be welcoming Joe to the Xtra Dog stand at Crufts Hall One, Stand 125 on Thusday, Gun Dog Day. He will be with us between 12:00 and 1:00 to answer any veterinary or nutritional questions you might have, so please pop by and meet Joe. He will also be helping us launch into the Xtra Dog range his fantastic range of Vet's Kitchen dog foods. Click here to find out more about Vets Kitchen or to order.

It is now only a few days until the dog world's biggest show on earth, Crufts. The dog show itself needs little introduction, but the event offers even more that that: displays, meet the breeds and, of course, shopping. We will be there, will you?Xtra dog has loads going on. Click on read more to find out more ...

Xtra Dog will be in Hall One, Stand 125 and we have loads going on. Come and choose a new Spiffy Dog collar. Check out our own design of fleece walking harnesses available in a choice of 10 sizes or even a custom fit if your dog does not fit a standard size with many different colours to choose from. We also have new foam harnesses, ideal for dogs that like to swim, as this material does not get wet or freeze. These are our design based on the thinking of the front part of an x-back sledding harness, but designed with two rings top and front so that they can be used with a double-ended lead to stop dogs pulling.

We will also have the Adanac range of sledding and wo
rking dog products from the USA. This includes the world famous Zima x-back harness used by dog mushers around the world. We will also have Pawtrekker dog scooters on display.

"We have ulouisecanam 2sed Zima harnesses exclusively for the past six years. They are long lasting, fast drying and, most importantly, fit well and are comfortable; we have never had any issues with harness rub at all. We highly recommend them!" Louise Cooke - Dog musher

... And Finally Meet Inventor Mandy Davies

Mandy-Arianne-Beach 2For those who do not know Mandy, she is the charismatic inventor of the Dicky Bag. She will be with us every day. Her wonderful neoprene bag, now made in Cornwall, is the ultimate answer to dog poo. For more details checkout http://www.xtradog.com/dicky-bag.html

When I walked the dogs with my kids I was sick of carrying bags of dog poo, so I invented the Dicky Bag. Made of neoprene it’s soft, lightweight, airtight, watertight and washable. Now I can join in all the fun, all the time! And there’s no need to only walk where I know there are bins are close by. Dog walking freedom – it’s in the bag. Mandy Davies
